Multiple myeloma is a rare type of cancer that affects plasma cells- a type of anitbody producing white blood cells that are located in bone marrow. Once these cells become cancerous and begin to reproduce, extensive damage can be done to the individuaal's bones, immune system, kidneys, and red blood cell count.
Last year, one of Pi Kappa Alpha's alumni, Mike Worley, was re-diagnosed with multiple myeloma for the third time. We as an organization would like to fundrase in hopes to spread the awareness of multiple myeloma. This year we will be donating to the International Myeloma Foundation.
