RUN
A three day event in Port Alberni British Columbia. The Tri-Conic Challenge is a Build Your Own event!
You can do one, two, or all three events and within those you can select the distance(s) that suit you best. And of course, if you do all three, you're doing our unique approach to a Triathlon!
Here is what to expect:
Join us on Friday, June 30th to pick up your registration at the beautiful Thunderbird Building in Uptown Port Alberni. Within your package (that will be full of cool stuff - provided by our Sponsor Walk the Coast), you'll find a voucher for a Friday Night Spaghetti Dinner at the train station across from the Thunderbird. And if you register early enough we'll do our best to include some awesome SWAG including a Tech quality shirt for the Run/Swim or a Tech bike shirt for the bike event. (One shirt per registrant. Note that shirts cannot be guaranteed for registrants after June 10th).
On Saturday, July 1st, Canada Day we start with our RUN pptions (yes we're a little backward in Port Alberni!). You'll see why we're doing it this way once here! It will be cool, very cool! That day features the RUN THE TRAIN.
On July 2nd it moves to the BIKE THE BOAT which again features four distance options two of which include a fantastic SALMON FEAST on the beach at Pachena Bay near Bamfield. This courtesy of Huu-ay-aht First Nation. Don't expect it to be easy....it won't be. It will however be awesome - expect that.
On day three - Monday, July 3rd we "end at the start" so to speak because that's when we do the SWIM THE PLANE. Join us at Sproat Lake, one of Canada's most beautiful lakes. Clear, clean water accompanied by the Martin Mars Water Bomber(s) one or both of which may well be on the water to backdrop your swim. Closing events will be held immediately after the Swim Events at the Sproat Lake Provincial Campground. Awesome place!
