The Last Well

Raise money for The Last Well

The vision to eliminate water scarcity and take the gospel to all of Liberia, West Africa by the year 2020 was birthed in 2008 by Christian young adults at a church in Washington D.C. led by Todd Phillips.

Together, they were inspired by the movie Amazing Grace that chronicled the life of William Wilberforce who is credited with the historic feat of ending the slave trade in England. Together, they set out to make their own history and rallied around the cause of providing a nation access to clean water and the good news of Jesus Christ.

Since 2008, The Last Well has reached over 750,000 Liberians with water and the gospel.

THE WATER CRISIS

Worldwide, roughly 748 million people lack access to clean drinking water.

That’s over twice the population of the U.S. using dirty, disease-filled water for cooking, cleaning, drinking, washing and more. Nearly half of those in need are in sub-Saharan Africa where Liberia is located. Almost one million of those live in Liberia.

As a result, tens of thousands die every day from preventable, water-related disease. Sadly, children are the most vulnerable to the effects of unsafe drinking water and sanitation problems. Of the tens of thousands who die each day, up to 90 percent are children under the age of five.
