Help us raise money

For participating in Pride and Remembrance Run Toronto

We're participating in the 2018 Pride & Remembrance Run

Women’s College Hospital (WCH) has been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Pride & Remembrance Run, with funds directed to the Transition-Related Surgeries Compassionate Fund, a new resource for trans people facing financial challenges related to their transition. Although access to care for trans and gender diverse patients has been improving, not all transition-related surgeries are covered by OHIP and costs can be considerable. As the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care announced last summer, WCH is the hub of surgical services for gender-transition surgeries in Ontario, providing expanded access for transition-related surgeries and becoming the second facility in Canada to provide bottom surgeries. Our hospital is home to an accessible, high-quality, comprehensive trans healthcare program unlike anything else in the country. Friends of WCH can offer support by joining our team or donating - are so grateful for your support!

Description

Help support LGBTQ initiatives through the Pride and Remembrance Run!

100% of your gift will go towards the Pride Run’s 2018 beneficiaries. These projects and initiatives will benefit thousands of people in the community and will not happen without your support

●Women’s College Hospital Foundation: The Transition-Related Surgery Compassionate Fund will help offset the significant additional costs incurred by trans people as they complete their transitional surgeries at Women’s College Hospital.

●LGBT Youth Line: LGBT Youth Connect aims to address the lack of support and resources for 2SLGBTQ grassroots groups and youth leaders across Ontario, especially in rural and suburban areas, through a centralized web-based hub for peer networking, skill-sharing, collaborations, and resources.

●Canadian Lesbian Gay Archives: The Digital Hub Project will address the currently outdated and inefficient cataloguing databases with one single digital database. This new database will enable researchers and members of the community to access the CLGA’s collections online and will provide new opportunities for exhibitions and greater access.

●The Pride and Remembrance Foundation: The Foundation’s mandate is to provide financial support to registered charities that benefit the LGBTQ2+ community. These benefits may include individual projects, services and/or activities that provide health, educational, legal, social athletic, cultural or other charitable benefits.
