Sandwich Cancer Fun Run

Dear Participant(s),

We are very excited that you have chose to run with us this year in the 2018 Sandwich Cancer Fun Run. We are very loose in rules but we do have some for the safety of you, other participants, and drivers on the road. We have tremendous amount of positive feedback on our start system. However, in order to keep this system working well need runners to consider the following:
Please start at a reasonable pace to where you are in the start line
Remember that our 45 minute to an hour course time limit does not start until the last runner crosses the start line. All runners regardless of when you cross the start line, have the same amount of time to complete the course. And the roads will open an hour after the start of the race, if roads do reopen all runners are responsible for their own safety.
Please try to avoid running with friends or family in lines of three or more people across the road. This prevents other runners from being able to pass, and can be very frustrating.
Please line up at the proper spot sooner rather than later. The race will start at exactly at 9:45 AM and failure to line up prior to that may mean that you will be late for the start of the race.
Remember sign up closes at 9:00, but we have the two extra runs this year so getting there at 9:30 to sign up for the 5k will not work.


Parking:This year we are closing specific parking spots for Run staff, volunteers, and vendors, so if you can’t get a close parking spot please don’t get mad at our staff. Get there early if you want a good parking spot. We are also Closing off the parking lot of The ShipWreck Ice Cream, Walking may be crucial to get to the Ice cream social and to get back to your car, unless you get to Shipwreck before we close of the parking lot

LEAVE YOUR BAGS AT HOME: This year we are asking that as runners AND spectators that you leave your Bags, Backpacks, Purses, etc., at home. Any bags Going into the Ice Cream tent are subject to check. Any bags at the run start area will also be subject to check, and may be asked to be held by race staff.

Drones: We ask that there are not too many drones in the air at the start and finish area. This may change at other runs in the future.

Finish Area: As you enter Bobby Byrnes Parking location all the way through the finish line and look for finish line conjunction movers.


Awards: New this year the race champions, winner of “The Sandwich Cancer Fun Run Elite mile”, and the winners of “The Paul D. Brodeur Family Fun Run” will be presented with their awards at the Ice Cream Social.
Exit: To get back to the Bobby Byrnes parking lot exit ShipWreck ice cream at freezer rd. and tupper road cross the street turn right and walk until you get to Merchants rd. turn on to merchants and walk and the take your first right.
Results: Unofficial results will be available by 7:00pm on race day on our website. If you just can’t wait go to the results tent at the ice cream social
