Raise money for Edgewood Center for Children and Families
Who We Are
Edgewood Center for Children and Families is a nonprofit with a bold vision: Success is within the reach of every child. Children deserve a safe place free from abuse and neglect, a safe place to learn and grow.
Nationally, 1 in 5 children will experience mental health challenges yet only a small percentage will access the help they need.
Edgewood addresses the needs of youth from all social and economic sectors of the community, including those facing peer pressure, bullying, and stress related to performing well in school. In 2016, we helped 9,216 youth and their extended families.
The children and youth Edgewood works with have experienced various forms of trauma – most resulting in behavioral health issues. Traumatic stress can interfere with children’s ability to learn, delay brain and physical development, and lead to substance abuse, depression, and other mental health problems.
Edgewood provides immediate intensive, residential services on its San Francisco campus, early intervention and Wraparound programs at the community level, and prevention programs which focus on the child’s broader environment. By working with a child’s parents, extended family, school, peers, and others who have a direct impact on the child’s well-being, we’re able to address the crisis in the making.
You can do more with your Across the Bay race - become an Edgewood Hero and start your own personal fundraising pages to support the kids of Edgewood!
