The Lt. Joe Szczerba '85 5k Run/ Walk is scheduled for Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Salesianum. Last year's race had nearly 700 participants!
Lieutenant Joseph Szczerba, an 18 - year veteran of the New Castle County Police Department and a graduate of Salesianum High School, was killed in the line of duty on September 16, 2011. To honor his legacy, a scholarship fund has been established in his name. All proceeds of the 5k Run/ Walk will benefit this fund.
