The Hamilton Brain Injury Association
Our History
The Hamilton Brain Injury Association (HBIA) is a grassroots, non-profit organization. It was started in 1986.
The Hamilton Brain Injury Association proudly offers several support groups that occur weekly and monthly. Each group provides a compassionate atmosphere of different individuals who are all in similar life challenges pertaining to Acquired Brain Injury. Through this environment the doors are opened to discover and share helpful resources, techniques, strategies, coping suggestions, and most of all, open understanding ears to listen and support.
The Hamilton Brain Injury Association also creates opportunities to increase awareness, provide education, and advocate for those who have acquired a brain injury. These programs range from creating awareness through school programs to helping caregivers and spouses gain more insight into their loved ones and provide the best support to them.
Our Mission
To ensure the quality of life for survivors of brain injury, and their families, through education, support and advocacy.
Our Vision/Values
All brain injury survivors and their families will have access to support services that will maximize their quality of life. We foster hope, respect, trust, friendship, dignity, and compassion.
