Eppie’s Great Race®, the World’s Oldest Triathlon®, is the largest paddling event in the United States! Join us for our 45th and final edition on July 21, 2018.
Sacramento-area restaurateur/entrepreneur Eppie Johnson founded the "Modern Triathlon" event on July 27, 1974. It has been held every year since, and is a Sacramento-area summertime tradition for elite athletes, fitness enthusiasts, friends and families.
The race features a 5.82-mile run, a 12.5-mile bike and a 6.10-mile paddle held along the scenic American River Parkway in Rancho Cordova and Sacramento.
Awards are given to the first, second and third place division winners in both individual and team categories.

Registering a Relay Team
- Captain MUST pay the team entry fee in full. (No partial payments accepted)
- Captain is responsible for creating the team during the registration process.
- Team Members are required to register themselves and provide all required information after the team captain has registered.
NOTE: You MUST provide correct t-shirt size, as exchanges will not be available. Participants who register after 07/06/18 are NOT guaranteed a T-Shirt on race day.
