The Run for the Shade 5K Run/Walk Event continues the tradition as the 6th Annual Running of the Chapters for the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM)! This event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20th in Phoenix, Arizona at the 2018 ASFPM Annual Conference.
Participants are invited to join us for a quick 3 mile bus ride out of Downtown Phoenix to one of our Phoenix Points of Pride – Encanto Park, listed on the Forbes Magazine’s List of America’s Best City Parks, for a morning run/walk under the palm trees.
You can run, you can walk….just come and join the fun!

Race Day Information
Race Day Registration will be available beginning at 6:00am at Encanto Park.
We accept cash, check, and credit cards on race day
Cost of registration on race day will be:
5K - $35
We welcome wheelchairs, strollers & wagons.
No roller blades, skateboards or motorized devices are allowed on the run or walk courses.
