Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco inspires and enables all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Our Story

Founded in 1891, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco has over a century of experience in youth development; however, we continue to find new ways to learn, grow, and innovate. We are nationally-recognized for the high-quality of our programs and comprehensive approach to serving youth. Our work is driven by solid core values: youth first, commitment to quality, integrity, outcomes-driven, professionalism, teamwork, and collaboration.

Each decade has brought new challenges and opportunities, some local, some national, and some global. From the industrial revolution to the digital revolution, through two World Wars, a great depression and two devastating earthquakes, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco has been a force for good in kids’ lives.

The way we change the world is not with one great act that makes big headlines. The Club’s contribution has always been everyday acts of support, guidance, and love for youth, particularly from marginalized communities. But we understand that this is really what changes the world.
