Head For Safety 5K Run/Walk

The Head For Safety 5K, formerly known as the MILES for JAMES 5K, will be held on the morning of Saturday, September 22, 2018 to help spread awareness about Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), raise funds for TBI research, TBI victims, and medical costs for James Javier.
We will be in a NEW location this year!

Registration:
Register by September 8th to guarantee your desired shirt size for this year's race. On-Line Registration will close the night before the race at 9:00pm.
Awards:
Prizes will be awarded to the top overall male and female finisher.
Medals to the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55 & over.

Online Pledge Pages for individual and team!
Set up your individual or team pledge page online! Once you register for the race, you can set up your own personal pledge page and/or team pledge page. Send the link to your family and friends and they can support you by pledging online.
Raise $100 in individual pledges by September 8th and receive an MFJ hoodie!

Race Site Location and Parking information
Centennial park is a large park and has multiple entrances.
The Head for Safety 5K Race Site, Parking, and Start/Finish will be at the Orland Park 153rd Street Metra Station at Centennial Park. The entrance is off of 153rd Street, West of West Avenue and East of 108th Avenue (just past the railroad tracks).
There is ample parking available at the Orland Park - 153rd Street Station Parking lot.

FAQs
Q: Can I register the morning of the race?
A: Yes. Proceed to the Registration Tent the morning of and you can register up until the time the race starts at 9:00AM. We accept cash or check on race day.
Q: Where can I park?
A: There will be plenty of parking available at the 153rd Street Metra Station (10401 W. 153rd Street Orland Park, IL 60462)
Q: Will there be washrooms available?
A: Yes, Port-o-Pottys will be available on site.
Q: What if it rains the morning of the race?
A: Rain or shine, the race will go on - please dress accordingly. The race will be canceled if there is lightening.
Q: Will raffles be available the morning of the race?
A: Yes. Raffle tickets will be available for the 50/50 Split the Pot and the $500 Amazon Gift Card until we sell out. Cash or check only on race day.
Q: I would like to participate in the 5K run/walk, but I will also have my 4 year old with me. What are my options?
A: Proceed to the Kids Tent and fill out a form and we will keep your child entertained and occupied with fun activities until you cross the finish line! OR Bring a stroller and have your child join you on the 5K course!
Q: Can I bring my dog to the race?
A: Yes. You must fill out and sign a Dog Waiver at the Registration tent.
Raffles - Day of Race!
We will be selling raffle tickets for these items on the morning of the race. You must be present to win these items.
Tickets will be 1/$3 or 2/$5.
