The Downtown Eastside Women's Centre Association

For forty years, the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre has been a place of sanctuary, sisterhood and support to women of the Downtown Eastside, providing basic needs, safe space, and a platform towards empowerment for women living in marginalized conditions and extreme violence and poverty. At the heart of the Centre's mandate is the meal program, which serves hundreds of plates daily, and connects women to a continuum of care, specialized support, and a welcoming environment. As demand continues to rise, exacerbated by the multiple crises faced by women and their disproportionate vulnerability, we rely heavily on community support and contributions to sustain our ongoing work.
