My Story…
Dear Friends
This is my third year running in this race to help raise fund for PIRS!
I am delighted to see all money raised last two years have been putting to good use for the immigrant and refugee families.
I was involved in the Refugee Strong Start last summer, and also as an outreach worker in our English class, we continue to serve many refugees and immigrants in Vancouver.
All our work and little contribution did bring a lot of hope and support to these families.
I am happy to see their smiles and see them able to settle down and flourish their life in Canada.

Canada continues to be home of diverse cultures. Vancouver is home to 913,300 immigrants, 40.0% of Vancouver's total population (Statistics Canada, July 25, 2018). At Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS), our mission is to empower immigrant and refugee women to fully participate in Canadian life through neighborhood-based programs. We served 1,263 participants in 2018 through 20 different programs. This year, we have been able to offer free Language classes to immigrant and refugee women. Our future wish is for all PIRS programs to be free of charge.
