I’ve been volunteering to help street cats with the RAPS Cat Sanctuary for 10 years now, and running in races for about half that time. Now I’m putting two of my favourite things together to run in the Scotiabank Vancouver Half Marathon to raise money for VOKRA! (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue) It’s a rough life for a kitty out in the streets of the big city. Thank you for your support!
Here are some of VOKRA's costs:
$5 buys a nursing kit for an orphaned bottle baby.
$10 covers the cost to vaccinate one kitten.
$15 pays for the cost of treating 1 kitten for fleas.
$20 buys a warming disk to help keep kittens comfy.
$25 feeds 2 kittens for two weeks.
$50 provides one month of care for a rescued cat.
