Help Lauren raise money

For participating in 2019 Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5k

My Story…

I can honestly say that I NEVER thought I would sign up for a half marathon. The idea of running that far terrifies me!So why am I doing it? 1.After a recent health scare with the old ticker <3 I was given the all clear. What better way to celebrate than by pushing it to its limits right?! After a long road of recovery from a car accident, multiple physical, mental injuries & trauma followed by this recent heart scare, I’m feeling grateful for the body & health that I have. 2. Running the Half allows me to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. Do you know somebody impacted by dementia? Sadly, it is highly likely that we all do. I’m running for my grandma and for all those impacted by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Your donations go directly towards helping those families and funding vital research. 3. I haven’t done anything that truly terrifies me in a long time-this is it! Your support means so much & will help me on those dreaded training runs!

Description

When you participate in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge for the Alzheimer Society of B.C., the time you spend and the money you raise helps us change the conversation about dementia, the experience of living with dementia and the future for people affected by it. Participating in the challenge helps ensure people affected by dementia are not alone, by educating and mobilizing a broader community of care around them and supporting valuable research.
