Callen-Lacey Center for Chidlren

Callen-Lacey Center for Children was established in 1998 to provide emergency shelter for child victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment in Berkeley County, SC.  Callen-Lacey has served more than 1,000 children since its founding, providing shelter, safety, basic needs, and educational support, as well as, recreational and vocational activities involving volunteers and corporate representatives, all to enable these children to heal with the knowledge that there are adults who care for them.

Callen-Lacey is the only group home for children in Berkeley County, SC.  It  provides 24-hour care, 365 days a year.  In addition to all of the other supportive services we provide, Callen-Lacey's counselors work with each child individually and in groups to assist them in healing from their traumatic experiences and move forward to a new placement with better coping skills.  Some will go to biological families and others to foster care, but all will benefit from the caring environment at Callen-Lacey.
