If you live outside of the USA, please don't let the shirt and medal discourage you from walking or running.
PLEDGING AND CROWDFUNDING
Your participation alone is helping to carry hope to the children of Himalayas. We are incredibly grateful for the impact of your participation. For some, the Run For Hope can also provide you an even greater platform to raise awareness and resources and we would love to encourage you to increase awareness and impact by crowdfunding. Crowdfunding allows you to share about your participation, but importantly, your heart and passion for why you are participating with your friends, co-workers, family, and network. Invite them to make pledges on your behalf right on this website and thus allow them to join in a community of difference makers who are all carrying hope to the children of the Himalayas. A small amount of $5, $10, $20 or more in your name you can help fund materials for projects and programs. For example, you could set a goal for $500 so that 10 families in the remote villages of the Himalayas now can have access to clean, safe drinking water! Here are some other examples of how a pledge can make an impact:
$10 - Art supplies for a single girl in the art therapy program
$12 - Feminine Hygiene Bag
$25 - Medical supplies for a health post
$50 - Clean Water Filter for a Family
$60 - Education for a child for a month
Crowdfunding is a powerful way to involve your network of friends and family. Together we can create greater, lasting change and carry hope to the children and villagers in the Himalayas.

ABOUT MOUNTAINCHILD
MountainChild's origins began in 2000 when short-term exploratory teams traveled to the region to investigate reports of severe medical, social, educational, and environmental challenges facing children living in the Himalayas. Children from these areas are counted fortunate if they live to see their early adolescence and the statistics are staggering; 1 out of 5 deaths of children is due to a water related disease and 24,000 children under the age of five died from water related diseases within Nepal in 2012. MountainChild is urgently working to improve the lives of these children by bringing food, medical aid, education and love to children who have little chance of survival amongst such hostile conditions.
At MountainChild, they are hyper-fanatical about stopping the cycle of suffering. Their passionate mission is all about enabling the mountain child to become a carrier of hope to their people. Five (5) core issues have been identified in MountainChild's pursuit to carry hope to the children of the Himalayas. The five core issues are:
- HEALTH | Striving to equip, empower and provide clean water, sanitation, and medicine
- TRAFFICKING | Combating the human trafficking industry plaguing the Himalayas
- EDUCATION | Providing educational opportunities as they are non-existent
- ENVIRONMENT | Environmental issues that affect health and growth
- CHILD LABOR | Combating rampant child labor issues
