Help Alecia raise money

For participating in Calgary First Responders Half Marathon

My Story…

I have been a volunteer firefighter for 6 years, additionally this past year I became a Corrections Officer. I am humbled to be apart of not only 1 but 2 family oriented jobs. Fortunately I work with and have some of the most supportive, giving, and genuine people in my life. Registering for this half marathon means more to me than words can express. With the recent passing of my father due to suicide, this charity event personally felt very suiting to partake in. When we replace "I" with "we" we can change mental illness to mental wellness. I will be running my first ever half marathon in memory of the most important man of my life; my dad. As my dad always told me “don’t stop believin”.. Now more than ever, I feel this goal needs to be accomplished. When I feel like quitting I know he will be with me. "Awareness and prevention are the only solutions to suicide." Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Proceeds will be going towards the Canadian Mental Health Association.
