The Victoria Hospitals Foundation raises funds for priority medical equipment and special projects at Royal Jubilee Hospital and Victoria General Hospital, Vancouver Island’s largest and most comprehensive health care resources.

As the charity of choice for the Island Race Series - your donation will go towards a new treadmill to be used in the assessment and rehabilitation of cardiac patients. Treadmills are a valuable tool because they provide a safe, low-impact assessment of patients’ cardiac functioning. The Heart Health team at Royal Jubilee uses exercise for patient assessment and to track the progress of patients’ rehabilitation. Exercise is a quick and easy way to place the heart under realistic loads — assessing its ability to cope with the stress placed upon it by everyday activities, thereby giving clinicians the best possible information.
