Our story…

The Group for Improvement of Intestinal Function and Treatment (GIFT) at SickKids is the first formal multidisciplinary team in Canada dedicated to the treatment and research of intestinal failure in children. Treating approximately 25 new cases of intestinal failure each year across Canada, the GIFT program has been at the forefront of many novel treatment therapies. Most importantly, the GIFT program has reduced the number of intestinal failure related deaths in children from 25% when the program began, to less than 1%. The future is very exciting, but we need your support to help GIFT continue to assist children affected by intestinal failure and support research and treatment for the condition.
