My Story…
On March 28, 2018 I experienced a spontaneous dissection of my coronary artery that created a 90% blockage in my left anterior descending artery (LAD). Phew. I could have died if the condition was left untreated, but thanks to the insistence of my friend, Nikki Hoffmann, to get checked out & the quick thinking of Drs. Vasquez, Krauss, & Ryan at Hinsdale Hospital my 39-year-old heart got a stent and I got a second chance. A second chance to watch Jack play his guitar and study science, see James play baseball and compete in Parkour competitions, enjoy Claire's dance performances and pedicures, volunteer in my community, work as an early intervention speech pathologist, and see the remodel of our home that Jim and I had planned for years come to fruition. I am so blessed to have amazingly supportive family and friends that have helped me on this unexpected, life-changing adventure.
