8th Annual National 5K SCADaddle for Research

On line registration is now closed. We welcome walk-in registrations at early packet pick up or at Danada Forest Preserve on June 8 starting at 7:30am.
Our Cause
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood type of heart attack. Most patients are younger healthy women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can recur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
SCADaddle
Our chip-timed 5K trail Run/Walk takes place on a USATF certified crushed limestone course at the main entrance of beautiful Danada Forest Preserve, Wheaton, IL. The course winds through the preserve's beautiful landscape.
All runners & walkers will be timed. Awards will be given to overall winner male and female. Medals/recognition will be given to 2nd and 3rd place male/female overall and to the top three males/females for age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 and older.
Award ceremony will take place immediately following the 5K, along with:
- Complimentary pasta lunch & other refreshments
- Silent Auction
- Face painting for the kids
- Fun for all!

Itinerary for June 7
6:30 pm - the event will begin at The Embassy Suites (Naperville) Murray ballroom with our meet & greet. A cash bar will be available throughout the evening, featuring a signature ❤️cocktail.
7:30 pm - Dinner & Drs. Sharonne Hayes, Timothy Olson (Genetic Lab) and Marysia S. Tweet from the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program will present the latest research findings.
Reunion event reservations ($52 adults, $26 kids 3-12)

Race Details
Chip Timing: We use a disposable chip timing tag that runners receive at packet pick up on their race bibs. It is lightweight and remains attached to the race bib. Runners must wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. Please do not layer over the bib.
