The 3rd Annual Shubie Classic 5K will take place on Saturday, April 13th, 2019 and is the perfect race to start the season! Set in scenic Shubie Park, this beginner-friendly event features an amazing volunteer team who encourage participants on-course as well as across the finish line’s “cheer tunnel”.
Race MC Russell MacKenzie along with FX 101.9 TODAY'S COUNTRY and their sister station 89.9 The Wave FM will be blasting out race-day tunes and 3rd Degree Training will lead the pre-race warm-up. Registration includes Atlantic Chip timing services, a newly designed 2019 medal, and runner must-haves: Tim Horton’s coffee, Ginger Bread Haus Bakery treats, post race massages from our friends at Nova Physiotherapy, a grand draw prize valued at over $250, and so much more!
Unique one-of-a-kind awards are being created for the event’s top male and female finishers. Even better? It is ALL in an effort to raise awareness about mental health with donations supporting the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. Please plan to join our fun 5K to kick off spring!

Unable to make it to the Shubie Classic 5k Fun Run at Shubie Park? Join in on the fun and run from wherever you are. Run a 5km route of your choice, take a photo of you running and do one of the following. 1) Post your photo on Facebook and tag @shubieclassic. 2) Send your photo via email to info@shubieclassic.com. We'll send you a Shubie Medal and a letter of completion in the mail! When taking part in this option feel free to complete your 5k anytime within the month of April to qualify to receive your medal in the mail.

Race Route
The race route is a beautiful and scenic 5k run that starts at 54 Locks Rd, Dartmouth, NS. Runners head through the park, across the canal over a bridge, and through the nature of Shubie Park on a safe gravel trail. The route is an out and back. Runners head 2.5km and then turn around and head back to the finish line.

In collaboration with our friends at the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, we are seeking volunteers who want to be part of our enthusiastic, fun, and encouraging team on Saturday, April 13, 2019 to make the 3rd annual Shubie Classic 5K the best experience yet for our walking/running participants. Roles range from helping set up and tear down, directing and marshaling, water & cheer station and finish line support (handing out medals, serving yummy treats, being the high five at the cheer tunnel) and so much more!
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
