There are 300 spots available in the Muskoka Kids Tri. Parents of children participating are welcome to register in the adult category with the understanding that the focus of this event is on the kids. The number of spots available to adults (ages 19+) is limited to 30 for men and 30 for women. Participants registering in the adult categories must be able to swim the 400m without a life jacket.

The Muskoka Kids Tri is an event for kids who like to have fun. Many participants are first-time triathletes. This is NOT an event suitable for kids looking for a super-competitive triathlon experience. No wetsuits for any age group. No clipless pedals for racers 14 and under. No training wheels.
This is also an ideal event for parents to 'try a tri'. We highly encourage this! There is a long tradition of whole families participating and kids getting inspiration from watching their parents participate.
The Muskoka Kids Tri sells out early every year. There are only so many people that can fit into our transition area at Port Sydney Beach. Because we want to have as many spaces as possible for kids - there are only 60 adult spots available. Ideally these spots will be filled by the parents of the kids participating.
Participants in the adult category be able to swim the 400m without a life jacket. This relates to the timing of opening the transition area for participants who have completed their triathlon.
We are excited to announce that the Muskoka Kids Tri is supporting the Muskoka Children's Foundation in 2019.
Please consider supporting their mission with a donation.
Muskoka Children's Foundation Mission:
To focus community resources for the enrichment of the lives of Muskoka children.
The Children's Foundation of Muskoka is an independent, non-profit organization formed in 1989 by volunteers in Muskoka. CFM raises funds in our local community, in partnership with individuals, businesses, and service organizations. We are also a community partner with Canadian Tire's Jump Start Program.
Through our community partnerships, we are able to help children and families in practical ways when no other help is available. We provide funds to meet the recreational, cultural, medical, and emotional needs of the children we serve. Our grants provide children in Muskoka the opportunities to grow and develop.
Our Extended Refund Policy (ERP) will allow participants to get a FULL refund on their registration fee (not including ERP and processing fees) up to noon on July 13th, 2019. This is ideal for participants who want to secure the early bird pricing discount but are worried they may have a conflict by the time July 20th rolls around and may need to cancel. Without purchasing the ERP, there are no refunds and no deferrals. Note: processing fees and the ERP fee are not refundable. Must be purchased with each individual registered at the time of registration (ie. one ERP purchase does not cover a whole group or family).
