Our story…

During the most devastating time in our lives, the Ronald McDonald house somehow managed to make us feel at home. Our son was rushed into open heart surgery at 5 days old, and also had a second heart surgery the next morning. Our lives felt like they were torn apart, along with our hearts. When we were at the point where our eyes couldn’t stay open and longer, we had a bed to lay our head. When we felt like we had nowhere to turn, and didn’t know what to do, they provided a hot shower and warm towels. We had somewhere to go that was clean, free of medical equipment, noisy intercoms and all the beeping. A place where everyone just understood, because they were going through something too. A place that was safe, a place where we felt comfort...where we felt calm. A place to call home. I don’t know what we would have done without the Ronald McDonald House. It wasn’t just a room they provided...they gave us hope. 🦁
