Our story…
For my 5th grade Personal Learning Project (PLP), I have chosen to raise money for cancer in honor of Melissa Marshall, who was my mom's best friend. While I never knew Melissa, I have always felt connected to her. My mom talks about Melissa often and I was even named after her, which I am so proud of. She and I share the same middle name (Anne) and initials (MAM).
We are given the freedom to literally choose any topic we want to research and learn more about (ok, almost any!). So, I am doing research and planning for my family to participate in an amazing walk on March 10, 2019 in San Francisco to honor Melissa, as well as all the brave people who fought…and are still fighting…every day.
I will do all I can to raise money, but it’s not even about the amount. I really just want to honor Melissa and do my part to fight this disease. If possible, I would love your help. Any donation is very appreciated...even $1. Thanks so much for your support.
