Fun Run: $20 with MAHDS membership / $25 without MAHDS membership*
Try-a-Trail Kicksled/Skijor/Bikejor: FREE with race registration / $10 with MAHDS Membership or $15 without MAHDS membership*
Demos/Spectators: FREE & no registration required! (just pay your park entry fee at the gate)

12pm: Skijoring Demo & Try-a-trails begin
12:30pm: Bikejoring Demo & Try-a-trails begin
1:00pm: Kicksled Demo & Try-a-trails begin
1:30pm: Canicross Demo & Try-a-trails begin
2:00pm: Event ends, but trails will remain open!

There is no charge to come check things out, but you will be required to register in order to hit the trails! Our friends from DogRunnin will also be on hand to talk all things harness dog sports gear & help you find the best possible fit for you and your dog.

Routes:
Chignecto Campground Trails. 2 loops of approximately 1.5km (sign up once to do as many laps as you like).
Canicross Run will be approximately 2.5km.
Required Equipment:
Dogs: All dogs MUST be in a harness designed for running and pulling. Dogs must be 12 months of age for events 5km or longer. Dogs must be 10 months of age to compete in events up to a distance of 2km.
Canicross (1 dog): A canicross belt & bungee line is strongly recommended though any hands free running leash will be acceptable. The distance from the competitor's abdomen to the base of the tail of the dog must be at most 2 meters (6.5 ft), when tight without elongation. However, the recommended distance is 1.70 meters (1.5 ft).
Bikejoring (1 dog): The dog is permanently attached to the bicycle by a bungee line where the distance between the front of the handle bars and the base of the dog's tail is at most 2.45 meters (8 ft), when tight without elongation. However, the recommended distance is 2.20 meters (7.5 ft). Wearing a helmet is compulsory for the cyclist; the bicycle must be a mountain bike, equipped with mountain bike tires capable of going off road and must have brakes capable of immobilizing the team.
Skijoring (1 or 2 dogs): The dog is attached to the skier by a belt and bungee line connected to the back of the dog's pulling harness. The distance from the competitor's abdomen to the base of the tail of the dog must be at most 3 meters (9.8ft). Cross-country or skate skis will be accepted for this event, however, skate skis are recommended. If taking 2 dogs out, a neckline is required. A helmet is recommended and required for youth.
Kicksledding (1 or 2 dogs): The dog is permanently attached to the kicksled by a bungee line where the distance between the front of the handle bars and the base of the dog's tail is at the maximum of 2.45 meters (8ft), when tight without elongation. However, the recommended distance is 2.20 meters (7.5 ft). If taking 2 dogs out, a neckline is required. A helmet is recommended and required for youth.
