For participating in Miles for Migraine - Philadelphia 2019

Our story…

In 1984, Corey Hart sang, “I wear my sunglasses at night.” For many with migraine, sunglasses are an essential item that enable us to function in an intolerably bright environment. Sunglasses are a tool that allow us to remain part of the world even when our pain is at its worst. Sunglasses are freedom: freedom from dark rooms and the isolation that often accompanies migraine disease. And yes, sometimes we even wear them at night. Our team is composed of Sarah, who lives with chronic migraine, and the family and friends who have suffered, celebrated, and learned to cope alongside her as she navigates life with this debilitating disease. On October 5, we'll be walking to raise money for migraine research and raise awareness for headache disorders. All proceeds will benefit local programs. Although migraine is the second-leading cause of disability in the world and affects 37 million people in the U.S., research for treatment is vastly underfunded. Will you please help?
