My Story…
On March 24th, Neil and I will be participating in the Seize the Moment Run to help raise awareness + funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California.
I was diagnosed with childhood epilepsy in middle school + told I grew out of it in high school. I was seizure free from 1994 to 2002, experiencing my first grande mal at 25. I went seizure free again from 2003 - 2016. 13 yrs! And then it returned. It was heartbreaking + frustrating but also brought me to a new reality + determination. Don't deny it and pretend it's not there. Respect it. Learn from it.
This will be my first time participating in a fundraiser for epilepsy and am looking forward to joining the epilepsy community. My last 2 seizures took place while running, something I used to do on the daily so this event is also symbolic. Just keep running.
