Boo Bear 5K Zombie Run & Walk
~ Supporting ~
You will need more than speed to stay alive this Halloween season. Located on the challenging course departing from Heritage Square and leading to the beautiful Grandview Drive, this event takes runners through 3.1 miles of zombie infested land. Each runner begins with flags attached to their waist. In order to make it through the course, you will want to pass the 3 zombie zones without losing all of your flags! Losing a flag adds 30 seconds to your final time! The goal is to make it back with as many flags as possible. But don't worry, there is a water stop along the way that is completely safe from the zombie hoards. And whatever you do... do NOT tell your friends that "You will be right back!" on race day. Everyone knows that's a sign that you are a goner!
In 2017, the inaugural Boo Bear Run was held to help raise awareness and funding for PI research. The event included a 5K race and a Fun Run and raised $27,403 for research. The Yellow Bear Foundation is a non-profit organization empowering communities to spread awareness and fund research of Primary Immunodeficiency (PI). With more research, we hope to help create a future with improvement of diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life of persons with PI.
