FROM THE ORGANIZERS OF THE HONOR CONNOR RUN... a super fun event for kids! The 2019 Splash, Dash 'n Smile is a swim and run aquathlon competition for kids ages 5-15. Participants swim a pre-determined distance, then transition from pool to running trail to finish the race on foot. The race will be hosted at the amazing NRH2O water park which connects to the beautiful running trails of North Richland Hills. Awards are given to top finishers in each age category and top fundraisers overall. Proceeds benefit The LV Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to buoyancy on water, and in life.
The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and follows the official aquathlon competition guidelines. A $10 USA Triathlon membership is required for all participants and can be purchased with event registration. USA Triathlon memberships are valid for one year and can be re-used for any USAT event. *Age Rule: This event will follow the USAT “Age-Up rule”. This means that the age of the athlete is determined not by the age on race day but the age the athlete will be on December 31, 2019. Example, if your child is 8 years old today but will turn 9 on, let’s say November 20, 2019, he/she will race as a 9 year old. This may require that your athlete goes from the Junior category to the Intermediate (longer race distance). If the distance is a concern of yours, you may choose to race-down (stay in the Junior category). But this must be done by 3:00pm pm on Saturday, September 14th (day before race). He/she will still get a final race time, however, you will not be eligible for awards (still get a finisher’s medal). We want to make sure that kids are comfortable with the distance and have fun! Safety is a priority.
It's time to swim, run & smile!
