The Emerald Isle Mile is a 1 mile chip timed run down Western Ave. New this year- the route will be out and back starting and finishing at 104th with a start time of 11:30 am. A portion of the proceeds help offset the cost of the parade.

Post Race Activities
After the race, runners will receive festive beads. No award ceremony. Stay and enjoy the parade.

Awards

Top female and male participants will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to Running Excels. The top male and female finisher in each age category will a $25.00 gift certificate. (9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & above). $50.00 will be given to the runner that breaks the course record of 4:32.

Parking
Due to spectators arriving for the race and parade, parking throughout the surrounding neighborhood will be limited. Please consider carpooling, taking public transportation, bicycle or walk.

Timing and Water Stations
The Emerald Isle Mile chip timed race. The timing tag is on the back of the race bib under a foam backer. Split times will be called out at the half mile with a clock positioned at the finish. Water will be available at the finish of the race. Water tables will NOT be available during the race.

Safety
For safety reasons, strollers, bikes, skates and pets are NOT permitted on the course. You must be able to complete the mile within the allotted 15 minutes. If you are unable to complete it, you will be escorted off the course.
