Set The Pace is an initiative to introduce/re-introduce children to distance running , to provide them with opportunities for tertiary education & to consider sport as a career.
The event targets children ages 8-18 years old.
Children ages 8-11 years old will participate in a 3k run, while the 12-18 year olds will participate in the 5k event.
The children can look forward to medal and trophies, while the organization with the most participants will receive $5,000TT towards further development of sport at that organization.
Children and their parents can also look forward to receiving information from different tertiary educational institutions on careers in sport and sport scholarships.

Race Route
This race is scheduled for Saturday May 4th, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and starts and ends outside of the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar, Arima
The race will take participants from the entrance of the Larry Gomes Stadium in an easterly direction on the Lennox Yearwood Expressway; they will then proceed left at the traffic light onto Cornbird Crescent. From Cornbird Crescent, participants will make the first left onto Nutones Boulevard and will continue in a westerly direction on Nutones Boulevard until they get to Yorke Avenue where they will turn left. Participants will then take the first corner on the right onto Atlantic and Gulf Street, followed by the first left corner (heading south), leading them back to the Lennox Yearwood Expressway.
Participants will then take a left turn onto the Lennox Yearwood Expressway (in an easterly direction) and head towards the traffic light again (and repeat the same route/loop i.e. make a left at Cornbird Crescent, back onto Nutones Boulevard). This time on Nutones Boulevard they will make a left turn at Yorke Avenue until they get to the intersection of Yorke Avenue and the Lennox Yearwood Expressway. On the Lennox Yearwood Expressway they turn left (heading easterly) and finally a left turn (heading north) back to the Larry Gomes Stadium.
