October 28th 2014, I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer at the age of 25. THIS OCTOBER 28TH, 2019 WILL MARK 5 YEARS OF BEING IN REMISSION!! The reason I am highlighting 5 YEARS is as a survivor most doctors consider you CANCER FREE when you hit the 5 year mark. Even writing these words is emotionally for me, because of the constant fear and anxiety I have had of it returning. However, I not only walk for myself, but for those who are currently undiagnosed, survivors, and especially those currently fighting waiting to make it 5 years. This disease is called "The Silent Killer" for a reason, because not only is it more difficult to detect but some forms are extremely aggressive. However, many forms can be caught by an ultrasound or pelvic exam at your OBGYN or hereditary cancer screenings. Any donation or awareness is important.
