Run Under The Star
The event is a midnight run open to adults 19 years old and over. It is a 13K and 5K chip timed run on the Confederation Bridge to mark the opening of the 6th edition of the Congrès Mondial Acadien.
The 13K run will start on the New Brunswick side of the bridge and the 5K run will start on the bridge. The finish line will be in the Gateway Village in Borden-Carleton PEI. Runners will converge in Borden-Carleton and be bused to their respective starts. The run will be followed by a post run party celebration (19 yrs up).
All off-island participants will be provided with a free bridge pass to get back to New-Brunswick. Runners will receive a swag bag containing a t-shirt, glow stick, event map and more goodies. All runners will receive a commemorative medal and category winners will receive a CMA2019 MidnightRun trophy. There will be a maximum number of participants which is set at 1000.

FAQ'S
Is there an age limit to the event?
Yes. The race and post-race celebrations are 19+ events.
Is there a cap on race entries?
Yes! The Run Under the Star is capped at 1,000 runners, so register now to avoid missing out!
Are strollers allowed in the event?
No. Since the event is 19+, no participants under 19 will be permitted.
Am I able to cancel my registration and receive a refund?
No. However you can transfer your registration to another person who has not yet registered. This is completed through your Race Roster account and is subject to a transfer fee.
The distances are for running, am I allowed to walk?
Yes, however please be mindful that there is a cut off time of 2:00am where all participants will need to be off the bridge. Everyone remaining on the bridge at 2:00am will be picked up and bussed to the finish line. We encourage participants to register for a distance that will allow you the full experience in crossing the finish line prior to the cut off time.
In the event of inclement weather, will the race be cancelled?
No, the Run Under the Star will proceed if raining. However, for the safety of all participants, staff and volunteers, the race will be cancelled if winds reach a speed of 50km/h. Should the race be cancelled for that reason, registrations paid, less any applicable service fees, will be refunded.
Will the Confederation Bridge be closed to traffic?
Yes, it will close to all vehicles on August 9 at 11:00pm and reopen to traffic August 10 at 3:00am.
Can I volunteer for this event?

Can I pick up a friend’s race kit for them?
Yes! Please have the registered participants name under which they registered for their race.
Where can I park my car?
All parking will be in Gateway Village, Borden-Carleton, PEI. If you are from outside PEI, you will be provided a Confederation Bridge pass at race kit pick up to use within 24 hours after the race to return home free of charge. All passes distributed in this way will expire August 11 at 2:00am.
How will I get to my starting point?
Free shuttle service will be available to transport all participants to both starting points. This service will begin Friday, August 9 at 11:00pm. We recommend arriving early to proceed through security into the shuttle loading area. Please give yourself plenty of time in the event of traffic and to allow for parking.
During the race, is there a secure location I can leave my personal belongings?
Yes, we will have a secure area on race day to store personal belongings for participants. On the bottom of your bib there is a baggage tag containing your bib number. Please attach this tag to your bag of personal belongings.
Will there be snacks provided?
There will be water hydration stations along the race route and a light post-race snack will be provided.
Will washroom facilities be provided along the race route?
Yes, washroom facilities will be located on the race route in the same locations as the water stations, as well as the start and finish lines.
Is there medical support during the race?
Yes, there is on-site medical support throughout the course and at the finish line.
