7:00 am - Race Day Registration and Packet pickup opens
8:00 am - Start of Armadillo Dash Trail 5K and Half-Marathon
Where: At the Bonnet Carre Spillway trail in Norco ( just west of New Orleans ) Start and Finish near the boat Launch pavilion.
DATE NOTE: This event has previously been held in June. Due to the opening up the Spillway gates last year and this year we are not taking any chances on the site and course being permit ready. !!

$25.00 Pre-Registered ( age 18-64 ) by June 15th, $30.00 by December 2nd , $35.00 on day of race
$20.00 pre-registered Youth ( age 17-under ) or Senior ( age 65-over ) by December 2nd , $25.00 day of race
Entry fees: Half-Marathon
$45.00 Pre-Registered by June 15th, $50.00 by July 15th, $50.00 on the day of race
Senior ( age 65-over ) registration $40.00 by December 2nd , $50.00 on the day of race

*NOTE: Half-Marathon minimum age is 18, if under age 18 please contact the Race Director for age qualification review to be able to participate in the half-marathon trail run

COURSE DETAILS
Course Details: Armadillo Dash 5K Trail Run & Trail Zilla Half-Marathon
ALL TRAIL COURSE. Course does not use any section of the Levee roadway
Armadillo Dash 5K Course ( see map below ) Start and finish moved closer to the pavilion. Out and back trail course using near parallel trail paths. Outbound section is longer in distance than inbound section.
Trail Zilla Half-Marathon Course ( see map extension below ) Those competing in the Half-Marathon will run the 5K course alongside those in the Armadillo Dash. Then immediately after crossing thru the 5K finish line location will make U-Turn and continue back onto the course to complete a 5 MILE loop section , upon returning back to the finish line location those in the Half-Marathon will turn back and complete 1 more 5 MILE loop section. Upon return you are done.
The Trail run course is in fantastic shape. Postponing the event date into December from earlier in the year provided adequate time for the trail to be fixed and maintained as well as dried out. Big thank you to the members of NOMAMBO ( New Orleans Mountain Bike krewe ) who maintain the course on an annual basis.
DO NOTE that the trail course is a demanding course with quick turns, uphill and downhill sections of some 4-6 feet that may feel like 100 feet. There are several wood bridge crossing - watch your step in they happen to be wet. This course is NOT a mud run or specified as one. The condition of the trail be it wet or dry is pending weather.
There are several water - aid stations on course. Station materials include Kentwood Springs Water, Powerade, bananas, oranges, gels. Please make use of nearby trash can or keep trash with you to discard at the next aid station. Please do not liter the course. If for any reason you need to stop / quit running and need a ride back please do so at one of the aid stations on course . Should any participant notice someone needing aid, please mention this to the next available course volunteer.
This will be my 32nd consecutive year to Direct a Trail Run at the Bonnet Carre Spillway in Norco. Thank you for joining us.. This and more information will be on display at the pavilion on the day of race.
