MAD SCIENTIST RUN

Join us for this fun filled run/walk at the 3rd annual MAD SCIENTIST 5K (3.1 miles), a flat and fast course through the US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Waterways Experiment Station (WES), Vicksburg campus. Race will start and finish at the new ERDC HQs building and the race course will go thru the ERDC campus past many of the buildings where our "mad" scientists and engineers work. The short-sleeve MAD SCIENTIST 5K t-shirts will be provided to all participants and guaranteed to the first 400 registrants. There will be special awards for M / F runners and walkers for overall Top 3 as well as Top 3 awards for 8 age group categories (19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and older). There will be also be awards for Fastest Run and Walk (Open and ERDC) teams. A one mile fun run will be held at 9:15 a.m. In the fun run, finishers medals will be given to all runners as well as awards for overall male and female runners.

 Packet pickup for pre-registered participants will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the ERDC HQs on Friday, September 6, 2019, or at the race site starting at 7 am.

 Pre-register by mail post marked (or online) no later than Friday, August 30, 2019. Race day Registration starts at 7:00 am in the ERDC HQs Atrium. Race participants should use the ERDC Main Gate entrance located at 3909 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180. Directions: Take I-20 to Vicksburg. Take Exit 1C Halls Ferry Road and head south for approx 1 mile. Turn left into ERDC at light and follow signs to ERDC HQs in the middle of campus. Parking will be available on North and South sides of the building. Participants may also enter thru the ITL gate (same as last year) and proceed to ERDC HQs. Proceeds support ERDC Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Scholarships.
