The James Ransom Memorial 5K is designed to be a community event to recognize the positive impact physical activity can have on mental health. Conceived to honor the life of James Ransom, a thirteen year old Ladera Ranch resident who died by suicide in 2016, this 5K recognizes that one in four families will struggle with mental health issues and our desire to make a difference. It is our mission to ensure that there are resources available to our children today so that they can access and navigate mental and behavioral health issues. The James Henry Ransom Foundation has been a lead advocate of and donor to local adolescent mental and behavioral health programs in our community. It is our goal to bring a teen center to our community to provide both a social space and a place to obtain resources for our youth. The James Henry Ransom Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation.
