Martensville Community Recreation Project
The Martensville Community Recreation Project (MCRP) is a local organization formed by a group of volunteers who work together in an effort to fundraise for a multi-purpose sports facility in the City of Martensville.
Our Goal
MRCP’s ultimate goal is to provide a year-round multi-purpose facility for the residents of Martensville and its surrounding area.
Through the solicitation of donations, the MRCP will construct a facility on land owned by the City of Martensville. Once construction is complete, the multi-purpose facility will be turned over to the City of Martensville as Owner Operator.
All persons will have the ability to visit or participate in events held within the facility. This facility will be deemed a rental facility when operated by the City of Martensville and the city will determine any fee structure that will be used for renting out space within the facility.
The multi-purpose facility will provide space for minor hockey, adult recreation hockey, CanSkate, Figure Skating, food services, ball hockey, indoor soccer, lacrosse and meeting rooms. These spaces will be used by local area groups for the benefit of these groups/teams and their families. This facility will be available to all sport, recreation and cultural groups requesting space for their programs. The City of Martensville will allocate the space to the various groups making a request and all groups will be given equal consideration. However, with an increasing population in the City of Martensville and thus an increase in enrollment in hockey, figure skating and soccer, these clubs will be the primary users of the facility.
TUFF Family Fun Run
The MCRP is proud to host the 3rd Annual Tune Up For Fall (TUFF) Family Fun Run. This is a fundraising event for the whole family. Bring everyone together for a morning of fun as you walk, run, or just go at a leisurely pace as you burn calories for a great cause.
The TUFF run began in 2017 and we were graced with some amazing weather, a fantastic volunteer team, and the smiles of the participants as they accepted their medals for completing the course. We had people of all ages running and raising money for the cause.
We are hoping to welcome returning runners while drawing a larger crowd in the 2019 event. The TUFF run is a 2km, 5km, and 10km fun event with emphasis on fun, fitness, and community. This is an event for all ages and levels of running experience. Whether you are a seasoned runner, first time walker, young child, baby in a stroller, or a grandparent out for a walk with grandkids, we love that you are willing to grace us with your smiles, and we welcome you to our event.
All proceeds from the event are collected by the MCRP where 100% of funds collected are donated back to the City of Martensville under expressed requirement that the funds are only used for a new sports complex which includes an ice surface. The MCRP is staffed by volunteers so all the money raised makes it to the final goal and nothing is wasted.

Safety and Protocol
- Wheelchairs being pushed and people with strollers must line up at the back of the pack.
- NO other form of vehicle is allowed. No skateboards, bikes, rollerblades, Nordic poles, etc. will be allowed for everyone’s safety.
- All participants are expected to follow the directions of the officials and public authorities. Road marshals will be wearing safety vests and will direct you.
- This is a pet friendly event, but please bring bags to clean up after your pets and start the event lined up at the back of the pack.
- No babysitting service – we are not able to provide babysitting services for children. Please be advised that your children should not be left unattended.
- Be sure to have fun!
- For your safety, please be conscious of the fact you are on a roadway.
- If you are in a group, please be considerate of the people behind you who may be trying to pass and move aside for them.
- If you are attempting to pass a slower participant, please call out “passing on your left/right”.
- Please thank the volunteers along the route.
- DO smile as you cross the finish line, there will be photographers taking pictures!
