It is the best BACK TO SCHOOL event in Park Ridge! Join us for our Back to School Bubble Fun Run will feature foaming bubbles at the start line, finish line, and throughout the course! Racers will be able to run, walk, skip, and hop through piles of foaming bubbles!!
Kids Races start at 8:00am
5K starts at 8:15am
1 Mile Walk starts at 8:30am
This USATF course certified, family-friendly event has something for everyone:
- A 5K through the beautiful streets of Park Ridge for those who love to run
- A 1 mile walk/run for those who want to get out and get a little exercise and a breath of fresh air
- For our youngest runners, we have short kids races (and every kid will get a medal!!)
- And, of course, BUBBLES to make it fun!
It is a great morning for anyone who wants to help support kids as they travel to cancer treatment. All childhood cancer survivors, both young and old, register for free and will be honored before the race begins.
Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your children. And run through a bubble-land to help kids on their cancer journeys.

Go The Extra Mile
Go The Extra Mile by raising additional funds for kids with cancer. Though certainly not mandatory, we encourage each participant to set a personal fundraising goal to raise funds for our kids.

About Compass to Care
Compass to Care was founded in 2010 by Park Ridge resident, Michelle Ernsdorff. When Michelle was just 14 months old she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Her parents struggled to pay for the travel expenses necessary to get her to cancer treatment. She founded Compass to Care, in her parents' honor, to help parents pay for the necessary travel expenses to get their children to cancer treatment.
Compass to Care has over 100 children in treatment. By participating in the Bubble Fun Run, you will allow them to help even more.

Parking/Metra Information
A free parking lot and free street parking is available within close proximity to the starting line at Hodges Park in Park Ridge.
The Central Parking Lot on the corner of Summit and Prospect is one block away from the start/finish line and offers free parking.
The Park Ridge Metra stops one block from the start/finish line as well.
