Our story…

Rhonda’s Band In October of 2017 Rhonda Downey was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma. Rhonda underwent surgery and treatments to fight the tumor. Rhonda was matter of fact about her illness and was extremely grateful for the excellent care she received during her illness from the doctors and nurses of Peoria as were her family and friends. Rhonda passed away in February of 2019. Throughout her life Rhonda was a caregiver to many and volunteered for countless organizations and events. The Walk for the Mind is a way for her family and dear friends to honor Rhonda by volunteering and supporting a wonderful cause just as Rhonda did throughout her life. It is Playing in Peoria. It is only fitting that Brain Tumor Research Programs are taking part at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. Research in Peoria will hopefully help further advance Brain Tumor Treatments throughout the world.
