Firebolt 5k
Muggles and Wizards alike- join us for a magical run on the grounds of Staunton's own Frontier Culture Museum. Along the course you will find many familiar sights from Harry Potter's wizarding world. The race will be professionally chip timed for runners looking to PR, or you can choose to walk the course, take in the sights and stop for selfies. Wanna run in full Potter-Gear while riding a broom? We totally understand, and We Love it!
Are you ready to compete with your House? At registration you will join Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor or Slytherin. (Still need to be sorted? Click here) Runners will be timed individually and their scores will be tallied to name a Firebolt 5k Cup winner. Who will get the bragging rights: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor or Slytherin? Brooms up!
No matter which House is victorious every runner will walk away with a cool finisher's medal and House tshirt. Wear your House tshirt and medal all festival long! NOTE: The last day to register and be guaranteed a House Tshirt is Friday, September 6th.
For the little wizard? The Race of 100 Harrys.
The Race of 100 Harrys is a half mile course which runs right through the heart of the museum. The race is not timed, children are encouraged to complete the course at their own pace and take in all the cool sights. All participants will receive a cool finishers medal. Parents should accompany young children, strollers welcome. Open to wizards 0-12 years young.
May we suggest skipping the Polyjuice Potion and opting for the VIP (Very Important Potter) Package? With the VIP Package wizards will receive a Gryffindor House Robe (one size), their own Wizard Wand (please no running with wands, we don't want to perform a healing spell so early in the morning) Wizard Glasses, Lightning Bolt Tattoo and cool commemorative Race of 100 Harrys tshirt. Everything your wizard needs for the Queen City Mischief and Magic Festival. NOTE: The last day to register and be guaranteed a tshirt is Friday, September 6th. VIP Packages purchased after September 6th will include Robe, Wand, Wizard Glasses and Tattoo only.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR: This year both the Firebolt 5k and Race of 100 Harrys will begin at the same time. The Race of 100 Harrys will start promptly at 8am. The Firebolt will start directly following. If you are competing in the 5k and have a child participating in the Race of 100 Harrys please have another adult waiting at the finish line for your child. Please no unsupervised young wizards.
