Run or Hike up Spion Kop to raise money for the Walk Around Lake Country (WALC) [maintenance and upkeep of Spion Kop trail system]!
The 3K, 6K, and 9K distances are taking place on the beautiful rolling Raptor Loop Trail on the lower part of Spion Kop.
The Summit Challenge 8K is gruelling, technical steep grades reaching 28%. Mostly single track through beautiful ponderosa pines and grasslands with some rocky parts, including a short scramble near the top! Trail shoes and hiking poles are highly recommended.
We will be timing this event, as it is a 'challenge' and to give perspective to avid runners/hikers who want to improve on their fitness from year to year!
As the Lake Country MultiSport (Run) Club is a registered BC Athletics Club, we do ask that all members enter their membership numbers during registration and will also receive a $3 discount to the event as part of the insurance requirements. The $3 discount code is "BCAA".
The first 100 participants will receive a pair of running gloves!
