Children & Families First

Children & Families First is a Delaware based 501c3 committed to helping children facing adversity on their journey to adulthood. We use proven methods that turn research into practice so children can reach their full potential when adults provide responsive care-giving to support their healthy development and educational achievement. 

Science tells us that adverse experiences early in life affect the developing brain, which provides the foundation for all future learning, behavior and health. Offering a continuum of services to address the lifelong negative impacts of trauma, abuse & neglect on every phase of family life we focus on:

Prevention = Helping parents and care-givers prevent adversities from happening to their children

Intervention = Intervening when children and their families are struggling with challenges

Healing = Providing support for children and their families to heal

Our free programs and services, offered to over 40,000 individuals each year, build responsive relationships, strengthen core life skills and reduce external sources of stress.
