The race begins at 9:15am at the Asheville JCC, 236 Charlotte Street. Runners and Walkers of all ages are encouraged to participate. (Day of registration begins at 8:00 am at the JCC and is cash or credit card only - no checks will be accepted for payment)
The event is a community wide celebration of the upcoming 8 day Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights. In acknowledgement of the giving season, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Eblen Charities to help provide emergency assistance to those in the community needing help with their winter fuel costs. We are proud to celebrate the holiday (a little early) in this way with as many runners, walkers and volunteers as possible.
For younger children, preceding the race start (at 8:30am) there will be a "race" that is FREE to participate, where the youngsters will be challenged to run 8 laps around the JCC parking lot. Registration for the race after on-line registration closes on 12/4 is available both at Friday 12/6 Packet pick up (4-6pm) and on race day morning beginning at 8:00 am. The price will be $40 once on-line registration closes.
