My Story…
I love the opportunity to use participating in marathons as a chance to raise money for some amazing organizations.
I have completed a 4-day challenge where I did 78.3km on my longboard. All to raise money for the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
On Thursday, Aug. 20 I did 5km in 31 minutes. Friday, Aug. 21 I completed 10km in 1:05:18. Saturday, Aug. 22 I finished my half marathon (21.1km) in 2:30:43. Concluding the challenge on Sunday, Aug. 23 I completed a full marathon (42.2km) in 5:01:22.
As a kid, I was at the Children’s Hospital quite often for prosthetics as well as other things related to my “disability”. I also have some family and close friends who have benefited from the amazing work that’s done there.
If I reach the $50,000 mark in donations, I will do a 50K (Ultra Marathon) on the following Sunday (Aug. 30). #ifican
