What is Sista Strut?
iHeartMedia Philadelphia will host the 4th annual Sista Strut Breast Cancer walk on October 17, 2020 – virtually!
Sista Strut’s mission is to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer, specifically how it affects the African American community.
Listeners in PA, Jersey, and Delaware will be encouraged to walk in their neighborhoods with their friends/families/pods, showing their support for their sisters who are enduring the unthinkable. Even a pandemic can’t STOP THE STRUT! Registration includes a Sista Strut Swag Bag! The Swag Bag is a pink fanny pack stuffed with your virtual walk essentials.
Swag bag pickup locations will be at Forman Mills location, with the date TBD. Registration is only $15 for a limited time. Sign up early for the best price.
Studies show that African American women are more likely to get breast cancer at a younger age and have a death rate from breast cancer higher than Caucasian women of the same age. Sista Strut recognizes the strength of survivors, their family and friends, heightens awareness, promotes early detection and the search for a cure.
