My Story…
My "Why." I ONLY run to fundraise to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
But MY "Who"--that's the important part. My cousin Christopher, who is now 27 years old, was diagnosed with CF when he was 18 months old. CF never stopped Chris. In 2013 and 2014, Chris ran the half marathon--it was inspiring, NOT just for those with CF. After that, as this disease does, Chris has had some setbacks, && he has not been able to run. Since then, I like to think that Chris's Fighters, my relay team, is simply holding his spot in the Pittsburgh Marathon. I have been the team captain of Chris's Fighters decades. Proudly, this is our 6th appearance in the relay, and we will not stop running until CF stands for Cure Found for EVERY fighter. The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment, and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.
