My Story…
Thank you for visiting this page. As you may have expected, the Pittsburgh marathon has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For those of you who know me, know I am NOT a runner, but I could not say no to the chance to help Open Hands Ministries/Circles, at which I volunteer. My team, named “Running Circles”, has chosen to run virtually, in hopes to raise the money that this organization relies on from this fundraising event. The OHM's mission is to promote justice in the East End of Pittsburgh by building a diverse community focused on financial wellness, equity creation, and home-ownership. As many of you are aware, the members of our low-income communities are far more susceptible in times like this. Please help us support OHM/Circles, and their commitment to stand by them. I know it is an incredibly difficult time to be fund raising, so I get that donations will be few, but if you have a few dollars to spare, it is a worthy cause. Thank you for your time.
Description
Open Hand Ministries promotes justice in the East End of Pittsburgh by building a diverse community focused on financial wellness, equity creation, and home-ownership. Initially founded as a ministry of four churches, we respond to social injustice and inequality plaguing our city by providing opportunities for sustainable and affordable homeownership for families in fragile situations. We serve our community by creating community. We partner with like-hearted organizations and individuals, urban and suburban churches, community development corporations, lending agencies, expert trade skill professionals, funding organizations, and other local support agencies in order to equip our families and community for success and homeownership.
